The RAC plays a pivotal role in advising and guiding the development of capacity-building activities for our community partners and researchers, thereby advancing our mission to create healthier communities through collaborative efforts.
About Healthy Communities Coalition: The Healthy Communities Coalition is committed to fostering partnerships and initiatives that enhance community well-being through research and capacity building. Our work focuses on developing and implementing strategies that address health disparities, promote equitable access to resources, and support evidence-based practices.Role of the Research Advisory Council (RAC): The RAC is a dedicated group of professionals who provide strategic guidance and expertise to support the coalition's mission.
As a member of the RAC, you will:
- Advise on the development of capacity-building activities for community partners and researchers.
- Support the coalition's initiatives by lending your expertise and insights.
- Guide content development and assist in shaping deliverables.
- Participate in bi-monthly meetings and engage in ad-hoc committee work.
Key Responsibilities: Members of the RAC are expected to attend meetings and participate in one or more of the following ad-hoc committees:

- Research Review Committee: Assess and provide feedback on research proposals and projects.
- Research Partnerships Committee: Identify and cultivate partnerships with researchers and institutions.
- Capacity Building Exchange Committee: Develop and implement strategies for building research capacity within our communities.
- Evaluation, Celebration & Fund Dev Committee: Recognize achievements and milestones within our coalition.
