PROGRAMS, SERVICES & initiatives

advisory research council (arc)

Accepting nominations and self-referrals for researchers and community members interested in serving on the Advisory Research Council. Responsibilities will include collaborating with Coalition members to develop guidelines for the Dissemination Lunch and Learns, reviewing research partnerships, advising strategy, and offering general support as needed.

Dissemination Lunch & Learns

Seeking researchers to present study findings, best practices or evaluation strategies over virtual or in-person lunch. Presentations should aim to strengthen community partners' capacity to deliver programming in the areas of housing, job-readiness, entrepreneurship, youth development, services for seniors, safety and violence prevention, environmental health, after school programs, support groups, mental health, grief counseling, and other programming impacting community health.

PROJECT E-RACE

Project E-RACE (Equitable Research and Community Engagement) aims to facilitate the development of training content to promote health equity, expand the network of community-based organizations participating in community-engaged research, and maximize the effectiveness of academic-research-community partnerships. We plan to assess community partners' current perceptions about community-engaged research, including the role of research in the delivery of programs and services.

4B DIRECT SERVICES

4B represents our approach to the design and delivery of outreach initiatives, programs and services to Black, Brown, and Bronze populations from marginalized communities. It reminds us of the need to incorporate social and emotional learning, trauma-informed care, and other tools to mitigate the list of systemic inequalities impacting these communities.  The 4th B, Brilliance, ensures we create opportunities that magnify or provoke the resilient brilliance that continually outshines and overrides inequality and oppression.
